Kingston runs on volunteers

The fireworks, the market, the food bank, the Village Green — none of it happens without neighbors raising their hands. Here's who does the work, where help is needed, and a shared calendar so two good causes don't book the same day.

The orgs doing the heavy lifting around town. Reach out directly — they're small, friendly, and always short a pair of hands.

ShareNet Food Bank & Services

Kingston's food bank and family-services hub, stocking pantry shelves and quietly catching neighbors across the greater Kingston and North Kitsap area when money runs short.

Village Green Foundation

The nonprofit behind Kingston's Village Green — the community campus with the community center, library branch, and park that serves as the town's living room.

Kingston Farmers Market

The nonprofit market at Mike Wallace Park by the marina — local farms, food, and makers, Sundays 10 AM–3 PM in season. Volunteer-powered since day one.

Kingston North Kitsap Rotary Club

Service club that funds scholarships and puts hands-on labor into community projects around Kingston and North Kitsap. Visitors welcome at meetings.

Kiwanis Club of Greater Kingston

A service club focused on kids — school supports, youth programs, and work parties wherever young people in Kingston need a boost.

United Way of Kitsap County

Runs the Volunteer Center of Kitsap County and the free VolunteerKitsap database that matches people with nonprofits county-wide. The on-ramp if you want to volunteer beyond Kingston.

Real shifts, a couple hours each. No account needed — you contact the org, they put you to work.

Things quiet down between events — but the organizations above always welcome an email from someone who wants to help. Reach out to any of them directly.

Want more options? The whole county is one click away.

United Way of Kitsap County runs a free volunteer-matching portal — the Volunteer Center of Kitsap County — where you can browse needs across the region and track your hours. It's free for volunteers, and Kingston nonprofits can register their own agency there too (confirm details with sjones@unitedwaykitsap.org).
